NDP NE Show 3: 21 July 2007
School: Grace Orchard School

As its name suggests, this is not an ordinary primary school. This is a place where children with mild mental disabilities study and play at. Located somewhere at the edge of Boon Lay Way, I had difficulty arriving at the place on time, or rather 10 mins late, after missing a bus stop. Drizzled a little, I wasn't a little bit dry. =)

Silence as it seems, laughter of the innocence could still be heard amid the given peace of the society.

Gone into the school compound after Aishah arrived, which she was late too, probably sharing the same reason I gave earlier. These children are no any special kids unless with a detailed second glance at them; the way they react were almost as similar to any children walking on the street. But when the teachers communicated with them, I could then realised the special part of them: Mentally dull. Just because they could not process their thoughts as quickly as of other children, they are being separated and marginalised from others - the society as a whole - which is what I feel sad for them.

Nonetheless, I suppose with these teachers at their sides whom really showed them their patience, these supposedly-special kids can then still be able to enjoy something which everybody is enjoying in every society: Love.

During the parade, these groups of young uniformed performers were ready, probably feeling excited as they seem, to perform on the world's largest floating performance stage! I managed to catch a sight of their cheerfulness on my camera phone just before they are off to perform.

Grand, impressive, and a slendid performance in front of our landmark buildings of the financial district, this scenic sphere of performances around the bay was indeed happening! If I were to be a tourist at that place, I would've unconditionally recommended many of my peers about this vibrant and a city full of liveliness. But poor fishes and turtles in the water: they'd have to bear with the loud noises from these activities!
